Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is well-known for starting modern scientific studies of children's memory as eyewitnesses and also the application of child victimization in court. Professor Goodman's publications are extensive, she has received numerous grants and has been the recipient of numerous awards the national level and international. She has worked with a variety of organisations and governments all over the world to conduct research and policies relating to child victimized by the justice system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). She is the founder of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
